I am passionate about the educative process, and committed to equity, social justice, and inclusion in all areas of endeavor. I believe in the power of story telling as a catalyst for change. There are many ways to tell a story. Data collection and analysis is story telling. Employee retention or turnover is story telling. The representation of diverse identities within an organization also tells a story.
I am a native of Atlanta, Georgia. I earned my Bachelor of Business Administration from the illustrious Savannah State University and earned my M.Ed. in Higher Education and Doctorate of Education in Cultural Curriculum Studies from Georgia Southern University.
My career in Higher Education spanned across functional areas such as Institutional Research and Assessment, Instructional Technology, Multicultural Student Programming, and Diversity Education at Clark Atlanta University, Georgia Southern University, and George Mason University, respectively. Prior to my career in academia I worked for ExxonMobil, 7 Eleven, and Nike in business marketing and management.
My research cognate is in curriculum development, critical race theory, critical race feminism, intersectionality, culturally responsive teaching, cultural Studies, LGBTQ studies, and narrative inquiry.
I look forward to supporting you and your organization in your efforts to foster equity, inclusion, and belonging for all of the diverse identities you support.
